Wendy’s is setting its sights on the morning commute with a new deal aimed at budget-minded breakfast enthusiasts. Their new “Honey Buddy for a Buck” promotion offers their popular Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit for just $1, but with a twist: you need the Wendy’s app and must make another purchase.
This move comes as fast food chains heat up the breakfast wars. With McDonald’s offering their iconic Egg McMuffin at a competitive price and other chains boasting value menus, Wendy’s is entering the fray with a familiar favorite.
Lindsay Radkoski, U.S. Chief Marketing Officer for The Wendy’s Company said in a statement: “Mondays are hard, and Wendy’s Honey Buddy has been a fan-favorite on our craveable breakfast lineup since 2020. Now, fans don’t need to brave Monday morning alone, because Wendy’s Honey Buddy is available at an unbeatable value.”
The Honey Buddy, a buttermilk biscuit stacked with crispy chicken and drenched in sweet maple honey butter, is a steal at a dollar. To snag this deal, you’ll need to be a Wendy’s app user and make an additional purchase during breakfast hours. This strategy encourages customers to explore their menu beyond the discounted sandwich.
While the promotion is marketed as a “Monday morning pick-me-up,” the deal is actually available any day of the week throughout breakfast hours. There’s a catch: you can only use the offer once per week, which will reset each Monday.
This $1 biscuit addition comes on the heels of McDonald’s announcement to extend its $5 Meal Deal through August. This is something that competitor, Burger King has done right from the start with their own $5 meal, and fans have pushed for since the promotion went live on June 25th.
Will Wendy’s $1 Honey Buddy lure customers away from the competition? Only time will tell. Wendy’s says the $1 biscuit will be available through this October.
