In Berks County, PA – The desperate attempts of several individuals aimed at wanting to work a “slow shift” at Wendy’s, shocked locals and law enforcement alike.

Amy Shraner and Ryan Boria, both employed at a Wendy’s located in Tilda Township, apparently decided that they deserved a break from the steady stream of customers looking to cap off their night with Biggie Fries and Biggie Shakes.

It seems that a Oceans-11-type master plan was concocted whilst enroute and before both of the Wendy’s employees impending shifts.

Their plan consisted of tripping up a sensor located on the rails of the local train tracks hoping that this would cause a jam, blocking traffic and customers from reaching Wendy’s.

Shraner and Boria stooped to an entirely new low, jeopardizing the lives of drivers by tampering with the local railroad system.

Police confirmed that a device was placed onto the track to block the sensors from properly functioning. The resulting signal jam would have prevented the gates from coming down when on oncoming train approached.

Their dispatch center would not have determined that the signal was being disrupted,” explained Officer Frank Cataldi. “A crash could have absolutely occurred.” (WFMZ.com)

As Amy Shraner drove the car, she dropped off Ryan Boria near the railroad tracks so he could do the deed. The entire charade was captured by surveillance images as Boria skulked on the train tracks, and placed something onto the rails.

The conspirators were arrested shortly thereafter and are being charged with multiple counts: causing or risking a catastrophe, criminal mischief, and reckless endangerment.

Local police and the FBI are currently involved in an ongoing investigation into the two identified culprits, to further determine if the pair had more nefarious plans.

We are preparing a search warrant for his cell phone to determine if there was another alternative motive,” Cataldi said. “If there’s terrorism linked to it and it goes, you could be looking at 20 years [in prison].”

It makes an awful kind of sense that officials are still ‘reaching’ for an alternative theory for the pairs nonsensical act and it may be that flabbergasted officials are giving the lowly pair too much credit.

The real motive perhaps, is as simple as both Boria and Shraner admit…pure laziness, which lead the two to commit a criminal act in search of a slow shift at Wendys.
