MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A Memphis Burger King employee is shaken after a customer dispute turned violent on Monday, May 6th, 2024. According to Memphis Police Department (MPD), a woman argued with a drive-thru employee over an online order.

She left the drive-thru line and parked her car, continuing the argument inside the Burger King with the employee. Then she left.

The situation escalated when the woman returning brandishing a silver semi-automatic handgun. MPD reports the weapon was placed on the counter “in a threatening manner.”

Despite the threat, the suspect didn’t stop there. She allegedly bypassed the employee entirely, grabbed several plastic cups, and filled multiple cups with soda and left without paying.

The incident left the Burger King staff rattled, but thankfully no one was injured.

MPD is currently searching for the suspect and has released details of the incident to the public in hopes of identifying her. She was driving a vehicle described as an older model black Lexus by WREG.

MPD is urging anyone with information to come forward with a possible cash reward offered through Crime Stoppers of Memphis and Shelby County: at 901-528-CASH.

A few weeks ago another incident at Burger King in Willowick, Ohio saw a man brandish a gun for receiving an unexpected discount on his order. The incident went on to spur multiple shoot-outs at several locations before bein apprehended.
