Burger King is set to crown a million-dollar Whopper champion but first the chain is offering one million Whoppers for a mere $1 each, inviting customers to taste-test and vote on three custom Whopper creations in the process.
The three contenders, crafted by Burger King’s customers and entrants in the One Million Whopper Contest, are vying for the coveted $1 million grand prize. Each Whopper boasts unique flavors and topping combinations.
Starting November 14th, customers can try and vote on their favorite Whopper creations submitted by contest entrants last Spring – while starting today, customers can order a Whopper for just $1 through the Royal Perks rewards app.
- Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper: (Created by Fabian from California) – The Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper features ¼ lb.** flame-grilled beef patty, topped with creamy pickle ranch, lettuce, fried pickles, bacon, and Swiss cheese – all on a toasted sesame seed bun.
- Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper: (Created by Calvin from California) – The Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper features ¼ lb.** flame-grilled beef patty, topped with maple bourbon BBQ sauce, crispy onions and jalapeños, smoky maple candied bacon, and American cheese – all on a toasted sesame seed bun.
- Mexican Street Corn Whopper: (Created by Kelsie from Nebraska) – The Mexican Street Corn Whopper features ¼ lb.** flame-grilled beef patty, topped with creamy street corn spread, lettuce, tomato, crunchy tortilla crisps, and spicy queso – all on a toasted sesame seed bun.
How it Works:
- Taste Test: Customers can visit participating Burger King locations to sample all three Whopper creations.
- Vote: After indulging in the delicious offerings, customers can cast their vote for their favorite Whopper. “Guests can scan the QR code located on the wrapper of each of the three finalist Million Dollar Whopper Contest sandwiches, prompting them to visit the BK App or bk.com/MDW to choose their favorite and help crown the winner*** of the $1 million grand prize.”
- Win: The Whopper with the most votes will be declared the winner, and its creator will receive a $1 million prize.
Pat O’Toole, marketing executive at Burger King North American, said in a news release:
“We couldn’t think of any better way to recognize and celebrate our biggest Whopper lovers than with a special offer that lets everyone feel like a winner. We can’t wait to hear how Guests think these three new creations stack up to the classic and look forward to them ultimately crowning the winner of the $1 million grand prize.”
As the competition heats up, Burger King is encouraging customers to share their Whopper preferences on social media using a designated hashtag. The fast-food chain is also planning to release exclusive behind-the-scenes content, offering fans a glimpse into the creation process of the three custom Whoppers.
