Burger King is testing a new breakfast sandwich is two markets called the Breakfast Grillwich.
Detroit, Illinois and the McAllen-Brownsville area in Texas are the two lucky markets to get a taste of the new item starting November 16th.
The breakfast sandwich is set apart from the usual biscuit, muffin and bagel crowd. It starts with two pieces of flame-grilled flat bread, and then gets eggs, American cheese, and then either; ham, bacon, or sausage for the main event.

The Grill’wich can be had as part of the Mix N’ Match meal in a 2 for $4 or 5 option.
Burger King has been having a bit of a questionable time over the past few months with wave after wave of locations closing, and multiple franchisees declaring bankruptcy in September, and October.
The chain is in the middle of a $400 million dollar Reclaim The Flame campaign which is focusing efforts on marketing, and updating technology at locations due for a revamping. Supposedly the closures are happening to trim the fat so to speak. And the plan is to move forward with gung ho franchisees capable of fulfilling the CEO’s vision.
With a new breakfast sandwich being tested, perhaps the chain is pushing for an updated menu with new options ready in the wings.
