Starting October 12th and Friday the 13th, the Ghost Pepper Whopper returns along with the new Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries.

Also along for the ride are glow-in-the-dark “Trick or Heat” Buckets which will be available in select markets. The buckets are Burger King’s answer to McDonalds legendary Halloween pails, and will be the first time they make their debut.

The buckets are limited and only available in; Nashville, Tennessee; Las Vegas, Nevada; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Atlanta, Georgia. They will cost an additional $1 with any purchase.

Burger King announced the spooky additions via Instagram captioning their post with: we go zero-to-spooky real quick 🎃💨.

Pat O’Toole, Burger King North America’s chief marketing officer said via press release:

“Earlier this year, we asked Guests if we should bring back the Ghost Pepper Whopper or introduce Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries. The results were split, so we’re adding both products to our menus nationwide this Halloween season, giving Guests multiple ways to enjoy the perfect combination of flavor and heat.”

The new Ghost Pepper Fries will be available in several size options including ; 4, 8 and 12-pieces.

The Ghost Pepper Whopper features spicy additions like: ghost pepper cheese, a spicy queso, and jalapeños. Burger King has made the orange-themed Whopper it a tradition every Halloween season since its introduction in 2019.

In other news, the chain has faced some tribulations over the past year, the most recent being one of their major franchisees going belly up, declaring bankruptcy and selling off all of their locations. The CEO reported an estimated 400 locations to close over the course of 2023. And they’re right on track.
