A few weeks ago there was a leak claiming that the McDonald’s Halloween pails (or buckets) would be returning this year and in their original form. McDonald’s just confirmed the rumor.
On October 18th the pails will be available, ending on the 31st…Halloween.
The popular pails’ return are a big deal because they haven’t been back in their original state for years. The pails have been released over the years, but were Scooby-Doo or Charlie Brown themed or some other marketing partnership not reminiscent of their original conception.
The three figures as people remember and love them – are the ghoul, the witch, and of course…the pumpkin. They first hit McDonald’s in 1986 and saw a popular resurgence in the 90’s.
But they hadn’t come back in the 2000’s and lovers of the pails awaited their return patiently.
The leaked info came out from the site, Nightmare Nostalgia in September and promised their return based off of an employee’s calendar showing the date they would drop.
The news quickly spread but no one knew for sure if it was the real deal.
Comments on social media are absolutely delighted by the confirmation by McDonald’s.
McDonald’s says that supplies are limited so if you’re looking to grab one, or scoop them all – you better get on it sooner rather than later, lest you have to get them off of Ebay.
