Doritos is joining the party for the 20th anniversary of everyone’s favorite Taco Bell beverage the, Baja Blast. The dynamic duo is teaming up to bring the taste of the iconic turquoise drink into a bag of Doritos under the name Doritos Baja Fiery Mango. The new Doritos flavor will be launching for the first time starting April 28th, nationwide.
The Baja Blast is coming up on a milestone, being first introduced to the menu almost two decades ago. And for almost as long, the flavor has become synonymous with Taco Bell. The tropical lime flavor, as it turns out, makes the perfect sidekick to a crunchy Crunchwrap Supreme or a cheesy Gordita Crunch. Now this year, the Baja Blast experience is expanding beyond the fast-food realm and into a store near you.
The Baja Fiery Mango Dorito, is described as “spice-packed and tangy”. IA Doritos representative said the chip aims to capture the essence of Baja Blast, focusing on pulling out both the mango, and habanero profile and reinforcing the spice with notes of chili pepper. This flavor marks a first for Doritos, even if it’s not the first fast food collaboration they’ve dabbled in.
In the past, Doritos teamed up with Burger King for a, yes…you guessed it, Flame Grilled Whopper-flavored Dorito which came out in 2023. It was only offered in the United Kingdom for a limited time.
Doritos released a statement on the Taco Bell collaboration: “Yes, my tropical lime-loving friends, Baja Blast is now sprinkled all over those triangle chips for the new Doritos Baja Fiery Mango. Spice-packed and tangy, this limited-time flavor is another way the brand is showcasing its dedication to bringing unexpected flavor experiences to loyal Doritos fans.”
This collaboration isn’t the only way Baja Blast is celebrating its big birthday, Taco Bell has multiple nods in store for the turquoise beverage. We have the Mtn Dew Baja Blast Gelato (returning sometime this summer), and new creations on standby, such as Cinnamon Twists dusted in Baja Blast seasoning, and the Baja Blast Pie.
Mountain Dew, the creator of the beverage, recently announced the nationwide availability of bottled and canned Baja Blast for the entire year.
Doritos Baja Fiery Mango still be available in 9-ounce, 2.6-ounce, and club 18.3-ounce bags.
If you’re a Baja Blast devotee or a curious chip enthusiast, keep an eye out on store shelves starting April 28th and get ready to experience the taste of Baja Blast in a whole new, crunchy way!
