Warren Buffett, investor and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, is as famous for his investment prowess as he is for his love of Coca-Cola. And even though he’s flush with cash, Buffett isn’t flaunting it. While a $100 meal is nothing to sneeze at for the upper echelon – Buffett prefers to be a loyal customer of McDonald’s, specifically ordering, a Quarter Pounder with fries for lunch over more fancy shmancy meal options.

So, what is the 93 year old’s meal of choice?

For Buffett, it’s simple. A Quarter Pounder with Cheese, and French Fries or as he said in his own words: “Three times out of four, I get the sausage McMuffin. Lunchtime I get the Quarter Pounder and fries.”

At a 2017 premiere, Buffet was captured saying: “Would 10 homes make me more happy? Possessions possess you at a point. I don’t like a $100 meal as well as a hamburger from McDonald’s. That’s the way I’m put together, I don’t equate the amount I spend with the enjoyment I’m going to get from something.”

It makes sense considering Buffett’s investment philosophy is to seek out “wonderful companies at a fair price”. So why not food at a fair price? He spoke to Yahoo Finance on his proclivity for spending on the cheap when it come to his meals: “I get a good value out of it. I don’t think there’s any need to spend a lot of money for breakfast.”

In 2007, Buffet revealed a key hack that’s always in his wallet…a McDonald’s gold card. He joked it’s the reason “the Buffets have McDonald’s for Christmas.” The legendary card is good for two free medium meals a week for 50 years, and is something of a VIP card for wealthy or celebrity customers but sometimes McDonald’s will include them as prizes in a sweepstakes.

What about the old codger’s health? It gets better, (or worse depending on which way you roll) Buffet also revealed that he drinks a mind-boggling 5 cans of Coca-Cola a day. Shockingly, the double threat of fast food, and copious amounts of soda hasn’t had a negative impact on his health. He’s still kicking, and investing well into his 90’s, and there’s really no sensible explanation for it.

Maybe Warren Buffett, and his penchant for fast food will outlast us all?
