For the first time in almost a decade, Chick-Fil-A is putting a new chicken sandwich on the menu: The Honey Pimento Chicken Sandwich.

According to Chick-Fil-A, the new chicken sandwich combines the flavors of sweet, savory, and spicy. It will also be the first time that the chain has incorporated jalapeno’s into the mix.

On August 28th, the new sandwich will be released nationwide.

Chick-fil-A is famous for having a sparse menu, focusing on a quality over quantity approach.

The road to find the perfect new flavor for a sandwich built around the original chicken sandwich’s bones was a long journey. It took experimenting with over 30 different sandwich options by the culinary team until they landed on it.

Then in 2020, the Pimento Chicken Sandwich was tested in Asheville, NC before it was given clearance to take it nationwide.

A statement released by the chain reported that, “Chick-fil-A’s culinary team began exploring a new seasonal spin on its Original Chicken Sandwich – the first time ever to experiment with the fan-favorite”.

The statement also summed up a breakdown of the ingredients that make the Pimento Chicken Sandwich:

“Featuring an original Chick-fil-A filet, topped with custom-made creamy pimento cheese, mild pickled jalapeños and served on a warm, toasted bun drizzled with sweet honey”

Also new to the menu is the Caramel Crumble Milkshake which was inspired by the “flavors that caramelize at the bottom of a blondie pan”. It has previously gone under another name in the past, as the Butterscotch Crumble Milkshake.

Chick-fil-A was recently found to be the nation’s favorite fast food chain. A poll taken by USA Today found Chick-fil-A to be hitting every customer service mark while McDonald’s was found to be at the bottom of customer’s satisfaction needs.

It shows that you don’t need a large menu to win people over, just an attention to quality for the food that you serve.
