The new concept (for Jack in The Box) restaurant introduced by the fast food chain was revealed in Tulsa, OK where the prototype was recently debuted, Restaurant Business Online reported.
Jack in The Box aims to jump into the take-out only realm at full swing and engage in efforts to expand across the country in the process.
The chain made their first foray into the cause with a 1350 square foot location that is centered around the “take-out” only concept and features a double lane drive-thru, one window exclusively for mobile deliveries, and one window for walk up orders.
Jack in The Box’s website says that the building is, “designed with modularity and multiple venue types in mind.“
The location also has exterior lighting that turns purple at night to indicate late-night hours of operation.
Jack in the Box currently has 2200 locations peppered mainly throughout the western part of the country.
The goal is to expand to other areas and is one of the first things on the chain’s list of to do.
The chain hopes to inspire other franchisees into taking the same plunge and opening take-out only locations.
The advantage of such a location is that it has less build-out costs which is a major selling point for franchisees.
“With the benefits of increased drive-thru efficiency and streamlined operations, this new model makes the Jack in the Box franchise opportunity more appealing for customers and franchisees alike,” said Tim Linderman, chief franchise and corporate development officer for Jack in the Box.
The chain currently has deals with operators to build over 200 additional locations
“We have had more site approvals in the past six quarters than the previous three years combined,” CEO Darin Harris told investors.
With this new crop of take-out only Jack in The Box’s popping up – if you live anywhere but the west and hope to see one in your neck of the woods…you may just get your wish.
