Federal Correctional Institute (FCI Dublin), otherwise nicknamed “Club Fed”, is famous for housing actresses like Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, both involved in the college admissions scandal…this time the scandal surrounds the prison itself. The California-located facility is hurriedly closing up shop, and shutting its doors forever after one too many bouts of debauchery taking place on it’s grounds.

This closure comes after years of disturbing allegations: rampant sexual abuse by staff against female inmates, the overcrowded facility riddled with mold and asbestos, and a wholly new kind of sin…a bizarre system of bartering “favors” done for Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC).

For decades, the FCI existed in a perverse duality. On the surface, it housed low-risk offenders, often non-violent, with a reputation for offering more relaxed conditions compared to other prisons. This leniency attracted the aforementioned celebrities who served short sentences for their crimes.

But beneath the veneer, a dark reality festered. Inmates reported a culture of sexual abuse by staff, creating a horrifying environment where those seeking rehabilitation were instead victimized. This abuse, coupled with the alleged use of KFC as a reward system, exposed a deep dysfunction within the prison.

Guards allegedly used their authority to coerce female inmates into sexual acts, exploiting their powerlessness and desperation. This systemic abuse went largely unchecked, leaving victims traumatized and with limited options for recourse. The terms “Club Fed” or “Rape Club” as inmates referred to the facility, becomes a sickening joke in the face of such brutality.

So far, eight inmates have lawsuits open against the prison, and according to a report, eight employees at FCI have been charged with misconduct against women going back to 2021. And that’s just the start of it. One guard alone has been charged with 17 counts of sex with inmates and five counts of lying to investigators.

Bureau of Prisons Director Colette Peters confirmed to DailyMail.com that: “Despite these steps and resources, we have determined that FCI Dublin is not meeting expected standards and that the best course of action is to close the facility. This decision is being made after ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of those unprecedented steps and additional resources.”

Actresses, Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin served short sentences in relatively comfortable conditions, far removed from the harsh realities faced by most inmates. This disparity in treatment raises questions about the true purpose of incarceration – is it punishment or a chance for rehabilitation?

Famed ex-Hollywood Madam Heidi Fliess spent three years detained there and has another story. as a witness to the abuse. She expounded on the behind the scenes iniquities that were rampant between staff and the inmates: “When I was there, there were inmates eating Kentucky Fried Chicken. And you knew right away they were f**king the guards because that fried chicken definitely did not come from the prison menu.

Fliess described the sex acts in exchange for goods, the goods being lingerie and KFC. And says that she kept out of the horrors going on inside the walls of the prison.

I remember one woman told me, ‘Hey, look at this,’ and then she showed me her lingerie as she was eating her KFC. All I said to her was, ‘Oh, that’s nice,’ but what I really though was, ‘None of my girls had to f**k for fried chicken!

There’s no official date set on when the facility will close its doors for good but the 600 individuals incarcerated are already being transferred to other prisons across the country causing it’s own convoluted mess of it’s own.

The road ahead will continue to involve a thorough investigation into the allegations at FIC and holding those responsible for the abuse, and for them to be held accountable, while systemic changes are implemented to prevent similar tragedies from occurring in other facilities. The question remains: can FIC’s closure truly mark a turning point, or will another “Club Fed” simply emerge under a different name?
