As the fast-food industry intensifies its value wars, KFC’s becomes the latest chain to hop on the $5 bandwagon to attract customers seeking affordable yet satisfying meals. With the introduction of crispy chicken nuggets, hearty bowls, and classic two-piece combos all priced at $5, the brand is clearly aiming to broaden its appeal and capture a larger share of the value-oriented market.
The new $5 deals include:
- KFC Chicken Nuggets: Enjoy eight crispy, hand-breaded chicken nuggets, served with Secret Recipe Fries and your choice of two sauces.
- Famous Bowl with KFC Chicken Nuggets: This hearty meal features a creamy foundation of mashed potatoes and sweet corn, topped with 100% white meat chicken nuggets, home-style gravy, and a blend of three shredded cheeses.
- Two-Piece Drum & Thigh: Satisfy your cravings with two pieces of classic KFC chicken, served with creamy mashed potatoes, gravy, and a buttery biscuit.

These new additions join the existing $4.99 “Meal for One” and “Meal for Two” options, providing customers with a variety of affordable and delicious choices.
Nick Chavez, CMO, KFC U.S. said in a statement:
“As customers are looking for more value from brands, we’re expanding our Taste of KFC lineup with new KFC fan favorites like our nuggets and Famous Bowls, each for just $5. These Taste of KFC Deals offer three choices – with something for everyone – at an incredible price.”
The $5 price point seems to be the sweet spot right now with Burger King and McDonald’s both just announcing the extension of their own $5 Value Meals which launched this past June in answer to dwindling traffic.
In addition to the expanded $5 menu, KFC continues to offer its popular “$10 Tuesdays” deal and the $20 Family Deal.
