KFC is adding a touch of apple delight to their menu with the launch of the brand new Apple Pie Poppers. They’re available for a limited time, starting now, nationwide.
The Poppers are actually one of two items that KFC just launched, the other being Saucy Nuggets which are available in five varieties of glazed bite-sized chicken pieces. They’re served in a box of 10, and with three sauces totally new to the chain:
- Honey Sriracha
- Korea BBQ
- Sticky Chicky Sweet ‘n Sour Sauce
What Are Apple Pie Poppers?
The Apple Pie Poppers are essentially miniature apple pies encased in a flaky, cinnamon sugar-coated crust. KFC is officially calling them “bite-sized apple tartlets” wrapped in a puff pastry with an apple pie filling tucked inside. Imagine all the warm, gooey goodness of a classic apple pie condensed into a finger-food format.
The buttery and flaky crust will likely culminate in a satisfying crunch, while the warm apple filling provides a burst of flavor. Some have even likened them to apple fritters, thanks to the light frying process.
Price and Availability
The Apple Pie Poppers will be sold in packs of four for a budget-friendly $2.49. They’re available nationwide at participating KFC locations, but only for a limited time. So, if you’re curious about this new sweet treat…you know what to do.
It’s interesting because KFC isn’t known for having a robust dessert menu. They typically offer only two options; chocolate chip cookies, and brownies. Maybe with the introduction of the Apple Pie Poppers, KFC will be exploring more dessert options. And who knows? The success of the poppers could pave the way for a wider variety of sweet treats at the Colonel’s fast-food empire.
