McDonald’s is making some headway in the Breakfast Bagel Sandwich Department. The just announced their return to all locations in San Diego, and Southern California.

Starting February 5th, the Steak, Egg and Cheese Bagel, the Bacon, Egg and Cheese Bagel, and the Egg and Cheese Bagel will be added to the menu. According to a press release, the change will be permanent.

This may be a move to test the new addition at select locations to see how they fare with sales, and how they factor into the Breakfast menu, prep-wise for the restaurant locations. In the past, the beloved Snack Wraps were discontinued because they caused a ruckus in the kitchen, and backed up orders…so that may be what we’re seeing here with the Breakfast Bagel Sandwiches.

Last February, the Breakfast Bagel Sandwiches also made a reappearance but for a limited time only in several major cities like Chicago, Washington DC, and New York. Excited fans of the sandwiches raced to order their favorite version but ended up disappointed when they weren’t available.

The chain also just announced a new McSpicy Chicken Sandwich which introduces a partnership between McDonald’s and Frank’s RedHot Sauce. The sandwich boasts a creamy mayo using Frank’s RedHot as the primary ingredient. However, and like all things delicious, the sandwich is also a limited-edition, and only available in the UK. The question now is…will the United States get a taste in the future?
