McDonald’s is bringing some Holiday cheer to their menu by bringing back the festive dessert pastry…Holiday pies. The chain will be bringing them to select locations throughout the US for the duration of the winter months.
The Holiday Pies return was confirmed by Markie Devo, a social media food influencer who has a pulse on what’s coming down the pipeline in the restaurant/food world. He said:
“Gather your belongings and head over to @mcdonalds. The Holiday Pie is back. The Holiday Pie consists of creamy smooth custard nestled in a flaky, buttery crust that’s glazed with sugar and topped with rainbow sprinkles.”
Over the years McDonalds has added, and removed an assortment of pies to go along with the seasons, and demand. In 1999, the Holiday Pie debuted for the first time during the Holiday season, and has made appearances here and there, ever since.
The dreamy custard filled pastry is decorated with colorful sprinkles, and glazed with sugar for a sweet pop of flavor. The word on the street is that the Holiday Pies will only be available at “participating locations” this year instead of a nationwide release. To find out if your local McDonald’s is carrying the pies, it’s recommended that you call ahead to find out if they carry them.
McDonalds also welcomed back another fan favorite recently, the ever-elusive McRib. It made its return officially on November 11th but some locations reported a later start date than advertised. Typically the McRib comes out of hiding once a year but in 2022, many were worried when McDonald’s started calling it’s return the “farewell tour”, alluding to a final run for the ever-loved sandwich. Thankfully, it turned out to be a marketing tactic to instill urgency in McRib lovers.
