McDonald’s has announced a brand new McFlurry, and it’s a flavor they’ve never done before. The ambitious new flavor is modeled after the combined taste of movie theater popcorn and caramel…but it’s only being offered to customers of Canada at this time.
The Caramel Popcorn McFlurry starts getting served up on June 21st and will be a limited flavor, likely for the duration of the summer.
It has a base of vanilla soft serve ice cream, topped with caramel popcorn bits, finished with caramel sauce drizzled on top to round out the sumptuous sounding experience.
The Grimace storm has been taking McDonald’s, and the public over for the past month. After the franchise brought the purple, rotund mascot out of retirement for his 52nd anniversary, his popularity soared.
To celebrate his birthday, they released a purple berry milkshake, and the Grimace Birthday Meal nationwide.
Since the new McFlurry is only available for Canadians at the present, that doesn’t mean it’s out of the question for release elsewhere if it proves to be a hit. It’s not uncommon to test different markets with new flavors or menu items to get a gauge on how customers respond in a limited setting.
