As football fans gear up for another exciting season, Popeyes is joining the celebration with a new offering that claims to be perfect for a tailgate party or game-day gathering. The fast-food chain has announced the launch of its Wings Tailgate Bundle, perfectly timed with National Tailgating Day on September 7, 2024.
Popeyes’ new Wings Tailgate Bundle includes:
- 24 wings (customer’s choice of boneless or bone-in)
- 3 regular sides
- 4 cup-sized dips
Priced at an affordable $24.99, this bundle is said it can feed a crowd.
Availability and How to Order
The Wings Tailgate Bundle will be available from September 7 through September 15, 2024. Customers can purchase the bundle through multiple channels:
- In-store at participating Popeyes restaurants nationwide
- Via the Popeyes App
- Through Popeyes.com
With this new bundle, Popeyes is doubling down on its self-proclaimed title as “The Official Wing of Watching Football.” The chain’s commitment to football season is evident in both its marketing and product offerings.
New Flavor Alert: Sweet ‘N’ Smokey Chipotle
Adding to the excitement, Popeyes recently introduced a new wing flavor: Sweet ‘N’ Smokey Chipotle. This flavor combines Chipotle chiles, guajillo chiles, and a touch of honey for a balanced taste that’s sure to please wing enthusiasts.
Popeyes now offers an array of wing flavors to suit every palate:
Bone-in wings:
- Ghost Pepper
- Honey BBQ
- Honey Lemon Pepper
- Roasted Garlic Parmesan
- Signature Hot
- Sweet ‘N’ Smokey Chipotle
- Sweet ‘N’ Spicy
Boneless wings:
- Classic
- Honey BBQ
- Honey Lemon Pepper
- Roasted Garlic Parmesan
- Signature Hot
- Sweet ‘N’ Smokey
- Sweet ‘N’ Spicy
National Tailgating Day, celebrated on the first Saturday of September, was established in 2016 by Luke Lorick, founder of the Tailgating Challenge. This day celebrates the tradition of tailgating, particularly in connection with football games.
Is It Worth It?
So right off the bat, why 24 wings and not 25? Minor nitpick but it’s slightly suspicious and kind of passive aggressive of Popeye’s to drop one wing for a weird amount of product. Wingstop has offered 25 wings for $15.99 in the past, and mom and pop restaurants offer more value in this department.
And then we have the included regular sides…which for two or three people, is barely going to equal a bite for each because the regular size is tiny. Why not just throw two large sides instead of three laughably sized items? Seems like an odd choice.
Lastly, the fact that four dips are mentioned as included in the meal? That should just be a given, right? Any deal that has to call upon the inclusion of dipping sauces is trying to get one over, in my opinion.
The fact that this is advertised as a deal for a crowd is where Popeye’s runs into trouble because a crowd would balk at this and look for more food immediately.
While Popeyes’ “Wings for Wings” promotion didn’t pan out during the last Super Bowl (which would have offered free wings if certain teams had won), fans are hopeful for similar exciting offers in the future.
So let us know in the comments if Popeyes’ new Wings Tailgate Bundle is something you can get down with or if the deal falls flat!
