Dairy Queen’s iconic Cherry Dipped Cone, which was abruptly discontinued last year, is officially making a return to menus nationwide after almost a year of being discontinued.
The cherry cone was taken off the menu last May, and the chain alluded to a possible future reprisal, also stating that their dipped cone flavors are “always rotating”. The news of their return, initially surfaced on TikTok from a Dairy Queen district manager, and has since been confirmed by the company itself.
Dairy Queen said in a press release: “We know our fans love the Cherry Dipped Cone, and we’re excited to bring this sweet offering back for a limited time at participating locations.”
The cherry-flavored shell, is a delightful upgrade to the classic DQ cone, and it was met with disappointment when it was removed from the menu in 2023. The pleas of fans seem to have reached the ears of Dairy Queen, leading to this sweet comeback.

She noted that a release date has yet to be confirmed.
Miranda said in the video: “Back in May, I announced that Cherry Cone Dip was being discontinued and replaced with Butterscotch and I knew a lot of people would be upset.”
“But due to popular demand, cherry is coming back. I can’t give an exact date because it depends on when the distributors get it in stock, but it was one of the best sellers in my location, which are in southeast Michigan, so I’ll be the first to let you guys know when I have it.“
While an exact return date hasn’t been announced, the wait shouldn’t be too long. Dairy Queen encourages fans to keep an eye on their social media channels for updates on the Cherry Dipped Cone’s return and other exciting menu offerings.
Wendy’s announced their own frozen treat coming to the menu…the Dreamsicle Frosty. This one is a brand new addition to the menu, and it’s launching nationwide on March 13th.
The new Frosty starts with a vanilla base, and gets mixed with orange syrup for the Dreamsicle flavor. Now that the season is starting to heat up, fast food chains are starting to concentrate on cooler treats. A good sign that spring is in the air!
