McDonald’s just confirmed the return of the McRib. In this late-breaking news, sources confirm that the sauced-up rib sandwich will be returning in mid-November.
According to Today.com, and the Instagram account of The Snackolator (who teases upcoming menu items before they’re announced), the McRib is slated to make it’s return sometime during this November and be on the menu for about a month.
The Snackolator said:
Update from McDonald’s: “It turns out not everyone was ready to say goodbye to the McRib after last year’s Farewell Tour. While it won’t be available nationwide, some lucky fans may find their favorite elusive saucy sandwich at their local McDonald’s restaurants this November.”
There will be mass disappointment due to the fact that this will not be a nationwide release, and there’s no word on who or where these “participating restaurants will be located.
Last year, McDonald’s announced the McRib Farewell tour alluding to the fact that the McRib would never be returning again. We questioned that narrative obviously because, well, the chain always plays coy in regards to it’s popular rib sandwich.
The iconic McRib is a tangy bbq sauce drenched number, complete with a rib patty, pickles, and onions on a lusciously soft bun. It was first introduced at a Kansas-located McDonald’s in 1981 to much acclaim.
As it stands today, McRib is a highly anticipated annual event that brings patrons on the scene who aren’t even McDonald-frequenters.
We will be waiting on that list of participating locations…
