A delivery driver for Doordash took her predicament to TikTok with a video that showed what happened when she went to pick up an order from KFC.

Freedom Promise Brannon” wanted to call out the KFC in question when she was left stuck in the middle of an order that she couldn’t complete because the chicken chain’s staff had hidden from customers an hour before closing.

She says that she pulled up to the window and saw the workers inside from her vantage point.

If you’re gonna say you’re closed, don’t let your customers sit in your drive-through. It was 10 o’clock and they weren’t suppose to close until 11. There was five people in the office hiding. Please be more respectful next time. #doorDash#KFC

She watched as they ran into the office so as not to be seen and counted at least five people ducking and dodging.

Freedom said that she then backed her car up to get a better view and when she did, one of the employees came out to say that they were closed.

She told the employee that she had an order for Doordash, but they pretended that there weren’t any orders on their end and that their tablet was down.

Eventually she was able to get them to make the order by showing them her phone.

Much debate ensued in the comment section of the video about the circumstances that would lead someone to hide from customers during business hours.

A contingent sympathized with Freedom, being delivery drivers themselves – they face the same obstacles. And not just at KFC, the problem is across the board at all fast food chains:

Bru this everywhere where I’m at they lights all on cars outside but just put closed to short staff

I showed up to Burger King about a month ago an hour before closing and they told me they already put everything away… went to the next & no issues

Employees weighed in on the issue from their end.

A lot of the time, the delivery apps don’t send the order to their store or there are tech issues that impede the order from reaching them.

Another problem is the placing of orders right before closing, especially large orders.

do u understand that they were closed? i work in fast food and when u are about to close some delivery orders don’t show up.

Them trying to hide is one thing but it’s pretty common for doordash not to send the orders to our kitchen systems until we manually put it in.

Disturbingly there were multiple people that have been told by a KFC at one time that they were out of chicken…like this person:

Idk the kfc I used to go to stay out of chicken. Like it’s literally in their name how they be out of it 😂

Freedom’s message in the text overlay for her video was “If you don’t like your job quit. Don’t waste other people’s time”.

Which is definitely a point to be made. The hiding was extreme and incredibly juvenile. It makes a case for the slogan Kentucky Fried “Chicken” to have another meaning behind the word chicken.
