McDonald’s seasonal Boo Buckets are almost upon. The annual Halloween tradition, has long been a fan favorite featuring spooky characters or themes. This year’s designs, however, seem to be causing a stir among the fast-food giant’s loyal fanbase.
Social media platforms are buzzing with reactions to the new Boo Buckets as customers express their disappointment and frustration with the designs. Some have criticized the lack of creativity and originality, stating that they feel the buckets are a step down from previous years. Others have complained about the limited selection and lack of variety.
Instagram foodie, The Snackolator posted a picture of the new season’s Boo Bucket designs and was met with immediate disappointment. He clarified that the designs were from a launch from international McDonald’s locations but that this would likely also launch in the US as well.
What Went Wrong?
- Nostalgia Factor: Previous Boo Buckets often featured iconic characters or nostalgic themes that resonated with customers. There’s the witch, the ghost, the pumpkin, and ghoul. This year’s designs don’t feature any of the aforementioned characters and in fact seem to have failed to capture the same level of nostalgia or excitement.
- Lack of Innovation: Some fans have argued that the new buckets lack the innovative and creative elements that made past iterations so special.
- Limited Selection: A smaller selection of Boo Buckets may have left customers feeling disappointed and unable to find their desired design.
It remains to be seen how McDonald’s will respond to the negative feedback surrounding this year’s Boo Buckets. Or if the company will make adjustments to the designs prior to the US launch which is expected in mid-October.
Some of the comments on X:
