On November 14th, Wendy’s Peppermint Frosty will be replacing the Fall-inspired Pumpkin Spice Frosty.
The time has come to ring in the Holiday season, and what better way to do that than…out with the old, and in with the new. Unfortunately, that also means that the Vanilla Frosty will continue to be side-lined will the seasonal Frosty’s have their time in the sun.
The Pumpkin Spice Frosty was a brand new addition this year that many were delighted to try when it hit menus, and it still has another two weeks to shine until it bows to the Peppermint Frosty…so not all hope is lost. Likely, the Pumpkin Spice will return next year in Fall 2024.
The Peppermint Frosty was first introduced last year, and had such a successful launch that it sold more of the flavor than other versions in that time frame.
John Li, Wendy’s Global VP of Culinary Innovation, “The Peppermint Frosty launch in 2022 resulted in us selling the most Frosty treats we’ve ever sold during the winter time frame, proving that Frosty treats aren’t limited to warmer seasons. Consumers showed up in a big way and illustrated why seasonal flavor innovation is so important.”
Wendy’s describes the Peppermint Frosty as containing, “bursts of refreshing peppermint.” Contrary to what you may be picturing, it’s not green but a light pink color…possibly to differentiate it from McDonald’s Shamrock Shake.
Wendy’s when asked on the different Frosty flavors: “We originally thought this might only work in the summertime, but the reality is it works year-round, which led to the Peppermint Frosty, which we launched last holiday season. There’s some fun stuff that’s happening.”
Not quite a milkshake, or an ice cream dessert…the Frosty stands on an island of it’s own and has been delighting us with it’s creamy texture for over fifty years at this point. The best part is when an unexpectedly new flavor gets dropped to tear us away from our tried and true…which gets us boppin’ to a new beat. Even if only for a limited time.
