After a period of testing the Spicy TRUFF Chicken Sandwich in CT, and NC…the sandwich has been approved to go nationwide.
Popeye’s is taking a “fancy”, customizable approach to the chicken sandwich in a partnership with the hot sauce maker TRUFF. The guest star spicy mayo sauce will be implemented across a total of eight different sandwich options including;
- Blackened Truff Chicken Sandwich
- Crispy Truff Cheese Chicken Sandwich
- Crispy Truff Chicken Sandwich
Truff Spicy Mayo will be available as a side for extra dipping.
“Both Popeyes and TRUFF have reimagined our industries, and now we are coming together to challenge the status quo on the concept of ‘fancy food,’ but for every day,” Sami Siddiqui, the president of Popeyes, shared in a statement provided to Food&Wine.
The sandwich will be starting at the price of $5.99, and the spicy mayo sauce includes the following elements; red jalapeno, mayo and black winter truffle.
The chain is also launching the “So You Think You’re Fancy?” contest which will take place within TikTok. Contestants can enter for a chance at a spot on Popeye’Yachtsteraunt which is taking voyage in 2024. You can enter by tagging #PopeyesContest.

Content creator, Wisdom Kaye is hosting the contest on TikTok.
“We launched a TikTok contest anchored to the launch of our fanciest Chicken Sandwich yet and designed the campaign to inspire guests to take to social media to spotlight fancy moments in their everyday life.”
If you like the original Popeyes chicken sandwich…the new versions use it as a base for an almost endless mix of flavors.
