An unlikely pairing has been struck up between country music legend Reba McEntire and the fast food chain Sonic Drive-In. The partnership has culminated in a delicious collaboration called: Reba’s Sweetheart Meal.

This limited-edition offering, available between February 12th and March 3rd, isn’t just a meal; it’s a taste of Reba’s personal Sonic favorites, curated for a romantic rendezvous.

McEntire, a longtime Sonic enthusiast, has publicly shared her love for the brand’s classic cheeseburger and tater tots. So, naturally, these staples form the foundation of Reba’s Sweetheart Meal. But the queen didn’t stop there. To add a touch of sweetness, she’s introduced the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Shake, a delectable blend of real strawberries, rich chocolate flakes, and creamy vanilla soft serve, topped with whipped cream and more chocolate.

What’s in Reba’s Sweetheart Meal?

  • Cheeseburger (with everything): American cheese, pickles, ketchup, onions, mayo, lettuce.
  • Potato Tots
  • Chocolate Covered Strawberry Shake: Vanilla soft serve with strawberries, and chocolate flakes mixed in, and garnished with chocolate whipped topping, additional chocolate flakes, and a cherry.

Mackenzie Gibson, Sonic’s VP of culinary and menu innovation said:Reba McEntire is a national icon who has regularly shared her love for our craveable menu. Partnering with her allows us to offer guests a unique, Reba-inspired date night experience.”

The collaboration extends beyond the meal itself. Reba will be promoting the Sweetheart Meal through social media and potentially even in-store appearances.

This partnership isn’t just about food, it’s about celebrating shared experiences. McEntire reminisced about early dates at Sonic with her then-boyfriend, highlighting the brand’s unique drive-in experience.

Reba continued: “My boyfriend Rex and I have known each other since 1991,” McEntire said in a release announcing the marketing campaign. “After getting reacquainted in 2020 at a dinner, he found out I love tots! That started my nickname, ‘Tater Tot.’ My little sister, Susie, gave Rex the name ‘Sugar Tot.’ So now, we’re The Tots! Sugar and Tater.

Mackenzie Gibson continued: “Reba McEntire is a national icon who has regularly shared her love for our craveable menu over the years, and we’ve partnered with her this month to give guests an exclusive, Reba’s date night experience.”

The star of the Sweetheart Meal may just be the Tots, and it’s no surprise since tator tots have long been a fan favorite side dish, whether it be for breakfast, lunch or dinner. This past November, Burger King brought back their Cheesy Tots after being MIA since 2021, and fans on social media waste no time picking them up. And although they’re not “tots”, they’re similarly constructed, Arby’s brought back the Potato Cakes in Canada, a side that fans have been clamoring for since they were discontinued in 2021.
