A customer named Caleb Wood ordered delivery from Chick-Fil-A through GrubHub. His craving for waffle fries and a milkshake turned into a real-life horror scenario when he found his milkshake was no milkshake at all…but actually a cup of urine.

How does such a scenario play out you ask?

Well, Wood’s craving for a milkshake sent him to the delivery app GruhHub, and when the driver dropped off his order…like anyone, he was excited to get down to business. So excited that he didn’t notice something was amiss. Very amiss.

He said:

“When I started eating my meal upon delivery, I put a straw in my cup that was delivered and took a sip. I soon discovered that the cup delivered to me from the GrubHub driver was a warm cup of urine.”

It’s dark and it looks nothing like a milkshake

The disgust that must’ve hit Wood like a mack truck coming in hot.

His reaction was to call the delivery driver and ask him, “Do you realize this is pee”?

To the delivery drivers credit, he admitted to his part in the unfortunate mix-up, and explained that he keeps a cup in his car to relieve himself because he works long hours. And Wood happened to become the lucky recipient of the “relief cup”.

Disturbing on every level, one has to wonder how often a bag of food or a beverage is sitting side by side with…urine in a delivery drivers car.

Wood took the matter to Grubhub’s customers service and explained the situation about the cup of…lies. Their solution was to refund a portion of the cost of his order, and to terminate their relationship with the delivery driver.

He said:

“…I think it [the order] cost like 25 bucks. They refunded like $18, the actual cost of the food,” Wood frustratingly said to Fox 59. “They didn’t refund the delivery fee or the tip that I gave.”

Chick-fil-A released a statement on the ordeal saying,”We’re following up with the customer to apologize and are coaching the representative who was previously in touch with the customer.”

An absolutely horrific ordeal without a happy ending for anyone involved. One thing this cautionary tale does accomplish, is a complete aversion to using delivery.
