A man was charge with second-degree burglary and stealing for an incident that took place at a Popeye’s located in Illinois. The bounty? $150 worth of Popeye’s frozen chicken.

Damon Saulberry, a 53 year-old man was out on bond for multiple accounts of “stealing”. Not one to disappoint, it would seem, Saulberry managed to add another heist to the ol’ rap sheet. He could face seven years, and $10K in fines, if found guilty for making off with the frozen Popeye’s chicken.

Investigators were able to ascertain from surveillance footage, that a male had gone inside of Popeye’s while it was closed for the night. The male was then seen removing multiple boxes of frozen chicken from the freezer and then whisking them out the door.

Employees of the Popeye’s were shown the footage, and they were able to pick out Saulberry as a suspect, recognizing him from frequenting the location previously.

St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell told reporters: “It amazes me to see people who look at burglary and stealing the way the rest of us look at going shopping. We prosecute these crimes aggressively in St.. Louis County.”

Saulberry will be tried for the theft of the frozen chicken, trivial as it may seem…he might get the book thrown at him for it. He’s currently being held on $75,000 bond.

Unfortunately this isn’t even one of the most ridiculous fast food heists out there. Over the years, there have been many outrageous heist accounts in the fast food world. Think along the lines of Santa climbing through the drive-thru window to fill his bag with cash. Yes, it’s happened.
