Pizza Hut has a wild new pizza creation, and it’s called, Ramen Pizza. It took the chain a reported 6 months to dream it up and perfect the recipe before launching in a limited market.

The officially named, Kotteri-fuu Ramen Pizza is available until February 12th, only in Japan and was created to celebrate Pizza Hut’s 50th anniversary since opening in the country.

Kotteri-fuu Ramen Pizza

The Ramen Pizza uses a thick broth called kotteri broth from the popular Ramen chain in Japan, Tenka Ippen. The broth is used in place of the traditional red sauce base, and the Kotteri broth which is traditionally thinner, and soup-like, is thickened to accommodate using it on pizza dough without the broth being soaked up.

Customers can add toppings like; green onions and chashu pork to the Ramen Pizza for a more authentic Ramen experience.

The price for one medium Ramen Pizza is listed at $13.49 USD.

Pizza Hut has been experimenting internationally with eclectic pizza for a while now with pies such as the recent Snake Pizza, released in Hong Kong in November. It featured three different kinds of shredded snake meat.

White Castle has also dabbled with Ramen when they came out with a Ramen Slider a few months ago. It incorporated ramen noodles into the mix, making them the star of the show.

If you’re in Japan, and you’re a Ramen Noodle connoisseur, this is definitely one to check out.
