A customer in Ohio got more than he bargained for after a trip to McDonald’s resulted in a meal, and a surprise…crack pipe?
The customer, Luther Tibbs described the incident to NBC saying that he went to the McDonalds in Columbus, Ohio for a quick bite. He paid for his order, and looked inside the bag noticing a strange foreign object. And it wasn’t a Happy Meal Toy. Upon closer inspection, it was discerned to be a crack pipe.
Tibbs described the ordeal: “We ordered our food, pull up, pay, pull to the next window, get our food, pull up and there’s a crack pipe.”
Tibbs then went back through the line to raise his concerns to a manager, and got another surprise. The manager denied that the pipe could have come from an employee within the establishment.
The police were eventually called after Tibbs went back multiple times to speak with the manager, looking for answers.
Tibbs filed a complaint against the Columbus location with the Columbus Public Health Department who ended up having the restaurant shut down subsequently after an investigation into the matter.
The matter wasn’t able to be reconciled nor were the origins of the crack pipe able to be discovered, and the location was reopened after passing inspection with no solution in sight.
And a crackpipe being found in someone’s order unfortunately isn’t one of the strangest things to be found in an order of fast food. There have been all kinds of strange findings including (but not limited to): glass, nails, a chicken head, a band-aid, and bugs.
