Mountain Dew has revealed this year’s mystery Voodew Mystery flavor, the MTN Dew VooDew is…Airheads Cherry.
Since 2019, the beverage company has released a mystery flavor every year to go along with Halloween, and it’s ensuing festivities.
The latest mystery flavor was teased in August with the majority of guesses pinpointing a Halloween candy as is usually the case. The guesses started coming in, in the latter half of September.
SweeTARTS cherry ropes, Skittles and Sour Apple were a few bandied about but a few did detect and guess Airheads correctly.
Mountain Dew released a statement teasing the flavor that said: “Beginning September 2023, DEW® Nation can run to the store to grab and guess this limited-edition mystery flavor. Hint – this year’s flavor notes might remind Halloween lovers of a very particular beloved trick or treat candy. Head to MountainDew.com to learn more.”
The partnership with the iconic candy Airheads is the first time both brands have partnered with one another.
The statement continued:
“For the fifth year in a row, MTN DEW® is continuing its Halloween tradition with the release of its latest mystery flavor – MTN DEW VOO-DEW. Each year, MTN DEW VOO-DEW merges the epic taste of a spooky treat with the iconic citrus notes of MTN DEW, to unleash a chilling flavor of Halloween with every sip,” DEW officials said.
Past mystery flavors have included candy corn, Fruit Candy Chews, and Sour Patch.
Coke is also a fan of the Mystery Flavor promotion with the Y3000, a flavor concocted with, and partially by artifical intelligence. Coca-cola designed it to taste like the “future”, hence the year 3000.
